ASIA MINOR HELLENISM: Heyday – Catastrophe – Displacement – Rebirth

Asia Minor Hellenism: Heyday – Catastrophe – Displacement – Rebirth was a large-scale commemorative exhibition co-organized by the Benaki Museum and the Centre for Asia Minor Studies to mark the centenary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe. Through more than 1,000 historical objects, archival material, photographs, and personal testimonies, the exhibition guided visitors through the flourishing of Hellenism in Asia Minor, the traumatic events of 1919–1923, and the resettlement and cultural contribution of refugees in Greece.

As part of the exhibition team, I was responsible for the presentation and animation of the digital content, including projection-based installations and animated audiovisual environments integrated throughout the exhibition spaces. My work focused on transforming archival material, testimonies, photographs, and historical narratives into immersive visual experiences that enhanced the emotional and educational impact of the exhibition. Through animation and large-scale projections, the digital installations aimed to bring historical memory to life and create a dynamic dialogue between the archival material and contemporary museum storytelling.
